The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia will give traffic cops the right to revoke identification cards confirming that the technical inspection has passed. In this respect informs newspaper “Kommersant”.
The police department has drafted a government ordinance proposing to allow investigators to revoke the identification card on their own within five days of detecting a fake (or other violation), regardless of whether a lawsuit has been filed against the inspection operator. .
According to current regulations, photographs of vehicles passing technical inspection must be taken to document the fact of diagnosis. It is obligatory to have a specialist who carries out the instrument control process in the frame. Fraudsters offering fake cards bypass the requirements and take pictures with the help of “Photoshop” and upload them to the Unified Information System for Technical Inspection of the Ministry of Interior.
If a traffic policeman detects such cases of fake MOT, he has the right to revoke the document. However, inspectors now have to await an administrative action or court decision against the inspection operator. As a result, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that inspectors were not able to immediately respond to violations, and vehicles got on public roads.
Previously reportedthat insurance companies warned of the high cost of “short” OSAGO policies for a month.
