Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce and Bentley were the most popular car brands found in the city without number plates in 2022. These and other unlicensed cars were moved to designated parking lots and dealt with there – regardless of whether the owners had to pay for breaking the stop and park rules.
In 2022, 472 BMWs, 313 Mercedes, 176 Audis, 59 Teslas and others were moved to dedicated parking lots. The top addresses where cars were picked up most often are Kutuzovsky Prospekt, Lobnenskaya Street and Leningradsky Prospekt.
Moscow’s transport ministry explained that cars without license plates or with false numbers could be taken to ensure the safety of residents. After all, such cars can be involved in crime or get stolen.
Last year, Moscow Parking’s tow trucks moved more than 5.1 thousand cars without license plates – almost 2.2 thousand of them were parked with violations.
