A 12-cylinder engine is certainly not ideal for a coffee table simply because of its size. But if a piece of furniture has to look luxurious, then the Ferrari brand is an excellent choice. The Italians are known for designing and producing not only very powerful, but also very elegant V12 engines.
Therefore, the Ferrari V12 engine was used to make a piece of furniture that Sotheby’s will be auctioned on December 10, 2022 in Miami.
This example was chromed for its “second career”. Four tempered glass tabletop brackets grow from the exhaust manifolds. The armrests are adjustable in height so that the table can be used both sitting and standing.
Auction house Sotheby’s expected to sell a Ferrari V12 table for $30,000, but it ended up selling for $60,000. So it cost almost as much as a brand new 2023 Chevrolet Corvette. – the price is $64,500.
By the way, only the shell remained of the V12 engine, everything was cleaned inside to facilitate construction. It is curious that when this piece of furniture was only discussed, it caused sharp rejection from motorists, who felt that the degradation of a powerful engine to a piece of furniture humiliated it.
