The sliding of the first superstructure of the Krimbrug has been successfully completed. And this was the first stage of the restoration of the span structures of the road section of the bridge damaged by the explosion on October 8.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted the very rapid installation of the superstructure, which took only a few hours.
“The move was successful and fast. The use of transverse slides made it possible to install the span in the shortest possible time. Thanks to the precise and well-coordinated work of the specialists, the span shift took 12 hours, while the metal structures were fed at a speed of 10 cm per minute. We will start installing the next span on November 11,” the deputy prime minister said.
The pre-assembled span was slid over special roller beams. Then it was installed on support feet, for which 4 hydraulic jacks were used, each of which can lift up to 200 tons. Then the metal structure of the span was lowered 5 meters. Now it remains only to put the span in the design position.
The workers will have to repeat this operation three more times – a total of four superstructures of the road section of the bridge will be installed.
“We need to assemble three more spans, after which we will pave the roadway and start working on traffic on the right side of the Crimean Bridge,” explains Nikita Khrapov, chief engineer of FKU Uprdor Taman.
