Chinese automobile brand VGV has revealed the technical specifications for the U70 Pro and U75 Plus crossover models slated for the Russian market, according to Izvestia, citing the company.
During market adaptation, 141 components were revised for the U75 Plus and 169 for the U70 Pro. The updates included recalibrated suspension, optimized engine control algorithms, localization of the multimedia system, and adjustments to run on AI-92 gasoline. An extended winter package and improved sound insulation were also added to both models. [citation: Izvestia]
In Russia, the U70 Pro and the U75 Plus will be offered with different powertrains. The U70 Pro, paired with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 143 horsepower, will be joined by a 2.0-liter engine delivering 199 horsepower on the U75 Plus. Both configurations use an eight-speed hydromechanical automatic transmission developed with technology from the German company ZF. [citation: Izvestia]
Previously, Motor Place, a company identified as VGV’s strategic partner in Russia, announced that the brand’s seven-seat crossovers would be priced to compete with more affordable and compact models such as the Renault Duster and Kia Seltos. [citation: Izvestia]
