The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has resumed vehicle assembly, following a pause that lasted from April 30 to May 15. This break was planned with consideration for holidays, weekends, and public holidays on May 4 to 6 and May 11 to 13. Despite the downtime, the plant continued to fulfill scheduled car shipments and ran a spring campaign focused on repairing production equipment, ensuring readiness for the return to full operation.

In the current year, UAZ has already halted some production lines. The conveyors were temporarily stopped on March 14 and 15, while an inventory check was conducted at the facility. Despite the shutdown, many other industrial sites persisted in operations, with only a portion of staff placed on short paid leave.

The March shutdown coincided with adjustments to logistics flows. According to the UAZ press service, as reported to Za Rulem at the time, post-resumption there were still some component supply challenges, though a stable supply of spare parts remained available. The company maintained stability through the latter half of March and throughout April.

UAZ continues to be the main asset of the Sollers group and currently produces the SUV families Patriot, Pickup, Hunter, Profi, and SGR. The company has not pursued the development of new models at this time.

– There is a possibility that a new model could be produced in Ulyanovsk in collaboration with Chery.
– The publication Behind the Wheel can be read on Odnoklassniki.
