Za Rulem, the long-standing leader among Russian automotive publications, explored which radio stations drivers favor during their commutes. The results pointed to stations that play music by Russian and Soviet artists.
To identify the favorites, a survey was conducted on the Za Rulem Viber channel, with participation from more than five thousand readers. Respondents were asked to select the station they listen to most often while traveling from a provided list.
Road Radio emerged as the top choice, attracting the listening preference of 20% of drivers. In second place came Europe Plus with 16%, followed by Retro FM at 13%. Rounding out the top five are Avtoradio at 12% and Radio Dacha at 9%.

The next tier of stations begins with Chanson, which secured 7% of listeners. This station’s audience is expected to grow as the XXII annual Chanson of the Year awards are set to take place, marking a milestone for the genre.
The event is scheduled for April 16, 2022, at the Kremlin State Palace and serves as a year-end recap for the music that defined the period. The jury, known for its strict standards, recognizes artists whose songs dominated the Chanson chart and resonated with listeners across the country.

During the ceremony, as the legendary golden guitar neck is presented, the hall audience and listeners of Chanson will hear familiar hits performed with emotion and a sense of shared experience that makes them timeless.
For the artist, the Chanson of the Year award marks the culmination of a year’s effort. “Holding an award from the listeners and the radio that started it all represents the sum of everything I’ve produced over the year. It’s not easy to earn this accolade, but that challenge is part of its appeal”, notes Stas Mikhaylov.
