A formwork panel collapsed from the roof of a high-rise building in Vladivostok, causing damage to two parked vehicles, according to a Telegram channel report from NewsVLru.
The incident took place at the Lime residential complex construction site on Tukhachevsky Street. The falling shield penetrated the roof of a Subaru XV, bending the windshield near its edge, and it also struck a nearby Toyota CH-R. The developer’s leadership has offered compensation to the owners of the damaged cars. Although debris-catching screens had been installed previously, they did not stop the panel from falling.
Photographs from the scene reveal a pronounced dent on the Subaru’s roof and a shattered windshield, along with scrapes on the Toyota’s rear bumper and rear door. The visual evidence underscores the severity of the impact and the potential risk to workers and bystanders at the site.
Former statements from the Primorsky Territory prosecutor’s office indicate that an inspection had already been conducted at the construction site and found the absence of protective nets or debris catchers. The responsible authorities have placed the site under supervision to ensure that safety measures are brought up to standard and maintained going forward.
In a separate incident in the Bryansk region, a similar occurrence involved debris falling onto a dashboard and shattering the windshield of a Volvo, illustrating a pattern of safety failures that can affect multiple construction sites across regions. Authorities continue to scrutinize adherence to safety protocols and the overall risk management practices on high-rise projects.
