There is no shortage of spare parts in Russia for Chinese cars officially imported into the country. This comes from a report by RIA Novosti, citing the Russian Association of Automobile Dealers (ROAD).
There are currently ample supplies of spare parts for Chinese brands, and extended delivery times for less popular items are exceptionally rare, ROAD notes.
Historically, the Russian market did see a rise in counterfeit car parts. In 2023, counterfeit products were most often found among components and engine oils from original European and Japanese manufacturers.
At the same time, imported substitute oils and batteries, known for their availability and stable supply, are widely sold. In 2023 Russians purchased a large share of maintenance parts such as oils, filters, brake system components and suspension parts. Oils and batteries, largely domestically produced, were in highest demand in the past two months.
Prices for car repair services in Russia have risen, with increases around a quarter in recent years. This shift has been felt across the market and has implications for drivers in related regions as well.
For Canadian and American consumers, the message is clear: when sourcing parts for Chinese vehicles, reliability and traceability matter. Official channels tend to provide more consistent quality and faster support, while monitoring for counterfeit items remains an essential practice. The ongoing balance between price, availability, and aftersales service shapes decisions for vehicle maintenance across North America, as buyers increasingly seek assurance from recognized suppliers and verified brands.
