Solaris HS ownership costs, Exlantix launch, and Prado mass production

Over five years of owning the Solaris HS sedan, owners in Russia would invest about 1.9 million rubles in maintenance, according to a report from the marketing agency NAPI.

Using these estimates, the cost to own one kilometer of the Solaris HS stands at 25.28 rubles. That breaks down to roughly 31.6 thousand rubles each month, about 379.2 thousand rubles per year, and the full five-year total of 1.9 million rubles. The price tag for the Solaris HS in the Comfort trim under review is around 2 million rubles.

The ownership calculation factors in MTPL and comprehensive insurance, tire changes, fuel, repairs, and taxes. The analysis assumes possession of the vehicle in Saint Petersburg with an average annual mileage of 15,000 kilometers.

Earlier information indicated that Chery planned to launch a new brand, Exlantix, offering Chinese electric vehicles in the Russian market in mid-2024. The initial model slated for dealers under this new label is the Exlantix ES sedan. It is described as equipped with an 800-volt lithium-ion battery of 82 kWh capacity and a single-charge range around 530 kilometers.

Additionally, reports noted that mass production of the new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado had commenced in China.
