A collision between a Skoda Fabia and a Volkswagen T4 minibus occurred in the Murmansk region, a report from the Murmansk Region Civil Defense and Emergency Situations Department on VKontakte indicates.
The incident took place on the evening of December 22 along Puteprovodnaya Street in Kandalaksha. Emergency crews, including traffic police and fire units, arrived at the scene promptly.
Seven people sustained injuries and were transported to Kandalaksha Central District Hospital by ambulance teams. Representatives from the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Emergencies in the Murmansk region are actively working to establish the causes of the crash, according to officials cited in the report.
Preliminary information from the regional traffic police, as reported by severpost.ru, suggests that the Daewoo Nexia driver swerved toward the left side of the road and failed to yield to the Skoda Fabia. The Fabia driver attempted to brake, the vehicle skidded, and it crossed into the oncoming lane, resulting in a head-on collision with the minibus.
Earlier, there were three trucks involved in a separate incident in the Sverdlovsk region, which created a blockage on a major highway.
At the moment, authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding these crashes, review road conditions, and assess the safety measures in place to prevent similar accidents in the future. This ongoing work aims to provide the public with clear information and to improve response protocols for road incidents across the region.
