During the autumn, consumer markets in Russia saw a rise in parallel imports, with dealers listing new Toyota, MG, Ford, and Audi models brought in through non-traditional channels. This shift has been noticed by media outlets such as Behind the Wheel, which highlighted the evolving landscape of automotive sourcing and pricing in the region.
Toyota Vios models entered the market, with the fourth generation manufactured in Thailand and Malaysia. The base price for these vehicles starts around 2.2 million rubles, and they come equipped with a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter engine delivering about 109 horsepower. In late September, a sizeable shipment of Audi Q3 crossovers arrived from China, produced under the Volkswagen-FAW joint venture. The front-wheel-drive versions powered by a 1.4-liter turbo engine producing roughly 150 horsepower command approximately 4.6 million rubles. (citation: Behind the Wheel)
In addition, Russian dealers added Ford Mondeo sedans fitted with a 2.0-liter engine delivering 246 horsepower to their inventories, priced around 4.7 million rubles. These Mondeos are built on the Evos platform and are manufactured exclusively in China since 2022. Also on offer were MG RX8 SUVs, featuring a seven-seat configuration and a 2.0-liter petrol engine producing about 221 horsepower. These SUVs were presented in higher trim levels to maximize passenger comfort. (citation: Behind the Wheel)
Previously, Russia also began selling cars produced at the former Mazda factory, marking a continuation of the trend toward importing vehicles through alternative supply chains and highlighting the changing dynamics of vehicle availability in the domestic market. (citation: Behind the Wheel)
