The Rostec State Corporation showcased a special medical vehicle built on the Lada Niva Legend 4×4 KUB platform during the Russian Health Week exhibition. This rugged vehicle is engineered with a fully armored body and critical internal components constructed from high-strength steel. It is purpose-built for off-road mobility and designed to deliver field medical support and transport for wounded personnel in challenging environments.
The ambulance can evacuate up to four patients and stands out for its advanced armor, featuring Br3 ballistic steel capable of stopping a 5.45 caliber round. Protection extends beyond the body to shield the engine, fuel tank, and battery from damage in hostile or rugged conditions.
Oleg Yevtushenko, executive director of Rostec, commented that the special military operation created new requirements for Russian industry, including the development of specialized vehicles that meet the demands of frontline and field service missions. The goal is to ensure medical readiness and rapid response in difficult operating contexts. This initiative highlights a commitment to protecting medical personnel and improving evacuation capabilities under trying circumstances.
Requires 7,000 tires in popular sizes
The statement emphasizes that public order is essential for dependable medical care and timely evacuation. Without reliable transport, delivering urgent aid and preserving health services would be compromised for those in need.
In a collaborative effort with the Popular Front, fundraising efforts have begun to supply tires for vehicles used by the People’s Police and the operational services in the LPR and DPR. The initiative supports ambulances, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and vehicles transporting humanitarian aid to residents in Donbass, as well as military equipment.
