In late 2022, a market snapshot from the NAPI marketing agency highlighted how budgets affected the cost of original spare parts. When comparing the car insurance basket’s original spare parts in November and December 2022, it was clear that budget cars experienced the sharpest price declines. The shift did not mirror the changes seen in mid-priced or premium vehicles, where the price movement was modest in the same period.
Across the mix, the average price for original spare parts held steady for mid-priced and premium vehicles, showing only slight changes of +0.9% and -0.3% respectively. That stability masked a more pronounced trend among budget cars, where prices dropped by 8% in just one month. This divergence underscores how market dynamics, supplier pricing, and consumer demand can push budget components in a different direction from higher-end parts.
The data provide concrete examples of the tilt in value. For budget cars, the rear wing contracted by 10.5% to 68,909 rubles, while the rear left door decreased by 20.3% to 43,802 rubles. The rear light price fell 6% to 14,101 rubles, the windshield declined by 2.3% to 33,018 rubles, the left front door dropped by 11.8% to 48,695 rubles, and the right front door moved down 7.3% to 51,355 rubles. These movements illustrate how budget components can become substantially cheaper within a short window, affecting overall ownership costs and maintenance budgeting for lower-cost vehicles.
Looking at the mid-price segment, price reductions appeared in several body parts. Front fenders saw a 5.5% decrease to 34,101 rubles, while rear fenders softened by 4% to 90,898 rubles. In the premium segment, the trend was a bit different; the hood priced down by 5.7% to an average of 162,951 rubles, and the windshield slipped 3.9% to 98,160 rubles. These shifts reflect how manufacturers, distributors, and local market conditions can differently affect parts based on vehicle class, supply chains, and aftersales demand.
Overall, the observed price contractions across budget, mid-price, and premium categories suggest a broader easing in spare parts pricing toward the end of the year. The contrast between the segments points to varied cost pressures and strategic pricing decisions among suppliers, with budget parts showing the most downward movement in the period examined.
