In February, nine automobile brands in Russia updated their car prices. The reports come from the portal Car News of the Day, which notes that most models became cheaper thanks to direct benefits offered by manufacturers.
For instance, this mechanism led to notable price reductions for Great Wall pickup trucks in Russia. The Poer and its flagship Poer KingKong saw cuts of 200 thousand and 300 thousand rubles, respectively, making these models more accessible to buyers. Direct benefits, in this case, helped shift demand and refresh interest in the brand lineup.
Omoda followed suit with a direct discount on the C5 crossover ranging from 140 to 240 thousand rubles, depending on the configuration. A few days after the announcement, the offer was not mentioned in the car description, illustrating the fluid nature of promotions in the market.
Meanwhile Jaecoo rolled out a direct benefit on last year’s J7 crossover, trimming prices by 50 to 200 thousand rubles. FAW brands also participated, with direct discounts of 300 thousand rubles on the Bestune T77 crossover and 100 thousand rubles on the Bestune B70 liftback from the 2022 model year, plus an additional 200 thousand rubles across all trim levels. The Forthing T5 Evo also saw a price drop.
In contrast, JAC chose a different approach, lifting the lid on price reductions only for the JS6 crossover and J7 liftback, with the JS6 becoming cheaper by 429 to 499 thousand rubles and the J7 by 399 thousand rubles. The Hongqi sub-brand under FAW reduced the HS5 crossover price by 400 thousand rubles across both trim levels.
Additionally, the Exeed RX coupe-crossover model experienced a price decrease of 300 thousand rubles at the minimum. Haval rounded out the promotions by updating prices on four models; for example, the F7 and F7x saw their costs decline by 50 thousand rubles each thanks to direct benefits.
Only AvtoVAZ extended price increases, driven by the inclusion of new equipment levels in the Lada Vesta family. This addition raised prices by 4 to 19 thousand rubles compared with the previous year.
Before these changes, observers wondered about the reliability of the new Lada Vesta CVT, noting the powertrain combines a torque converter with a planetary gear. The first stage operates at low speeds while the second engages at higher speeds, aligning with common CVT design expectations.
Ultimately, analysts and consumers alike watch how these promotions influence long-term demand and resale values across the Russian market, as manufacturers balance short-term incentives with strategic positioning. The evolving pricing landscape across brands continues to reflect competitive dynamics and consumer appetite for value.
Earlier discussions highlighted which car brands tend to satisfy owners best, reflecting consumer experiences and brand reputation in a competitive environment.
