A bus breakdown during a school excursion prompted police assistance in Yekaterinburg
A group of students and their teachers were on an organized excursion when a police unit in Yekaterinburg stepped in to help. The incident was reported to the city traffic police and quickly verified by their on duty teams.
The traffic control center received a notification about a Yutong bus stopped near kilometer seven of EKAD around 1:00 PM on December 16. The message mentioned that the bus carried young passengers and their instructors. Responding officers arrived at the scene to confirm the information gathered by the students from the primary school and their teachers who were inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle.
Investigators noted that the bus engine had failed and could not move under its own power. The adverse weather conditions, marked by unusually cold temperatures in the region, further complicated the situation. Acting swiftly, police requested a replacement bus to transport the children and their teachers to their destinations safely and without delay.
In a separate report, authorities in the Leningrad region described an arson incident in which an unidentified person set fire to a deputy local official’s vehicle. Law enforcement officers linked the arson to the activities of the deputy as part of the ongoing investigation.
