To give troops an advantage, there is a push to deliver the latest weapons and equipment straight to the front. This approach aims to speed up the flow of innovations, even before every test cycle reaches completion, according to Evgeny Dudorov, executive director of Android Technology NPO.

“We have not historically tested certain items at our testing facilities, nor have we labeled them with different designations. We do not rely on such conventions for the current campaign. Some domestic developments have not yet cleared all testing stages, and some may still be learning how to best operate. Yet if they can be immediately useful, there is value in trying them now,” Dudorov noted.

The Ukraine confrontation has turned into a real-world laboratory where Western and allied technologies, especially those connected to military production, are evaluated in action. This makes the current conflict unlike any other, the expert emphasizes.

“This is no longer a matter of quasi-state groups or isolated operations from past conflicts. The adversary today is highly technical, backed by experienced mercenaries from European countries and the United States, among others. As a result, the most unconventional solutions must be considered and implemented,” Dudorov explained in discussions with RIA Novosti.

The emphasis extends beyond state interests. Dynamic domestic startups and various young companies frequently present ideas and projects ripe for adaptation to defense needs. Their innovations could prove highly valuable to front-line operations, Dudorov asserts, underscoring the potential for fast-tracked civilian tech to support military aims.
