Omoda revealed the electric version of the C5 crossover at the Geneva Motor Show, with the event taking place in Qatar according to Automatic Home reports. The reveal highlighted a model that blends familiar styling cues with fresh electric design elements, signaling a clear shift for the lineup.
Visually, the electric C5 diverges from its gasoline counterpart in several ways. The prominent radiator grille is replaced by a clean, grille-free front fascia, and the bumper geometry has been redesigned to improve airflow. New aerodynamic wheels further reduce drag, contributing to a longer electric range and improved efficiency on the road.
The cabin echoes the gasoline version in its dual-screen setup, where two 12-inch displays form a single, cohesive display unit. At the auto show, Omoda showcased a two-tone interior finish that highlights a modern, driver-focused cockpit. The central tunnel on the electric model omits the traditional driving mode switch found in the standard C5, signaling a streamlined control philosophy. The electric powertrain delivers 204 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, providing a capable performance. The claimed range sits around 550 kilometers, and the sprint to 100 km/h comes in about 7.5 seconds, offering a balanced blend of everyday usability and spirited acceleration.
Earlier announcements positioned the Omoda electric crossover for Russia, with plans for a late-2023 rollout in the fourth quarter. The market introduction followed the availability of the gasoline variants of the C5, including a 1.5-liter front-wheel-drive version and a 1.6-liter all-wheel-drive variant, with pricing targeted between 2.7 and 3.3 million rubles in the region. The company has continued to expand its regional presence, complementing the electric strategy with additional reveals such as a new Tiggo 7 Pro variant introduced in Qatar.
