New sales and service locations for the revived Moskvich brand have opened in Sochi and Simferopol, signaling a broadened footprint for the iconic Russian automaker. The expansion aligns with a broader push to restore the Moskvich name across major markets and provide accessible service and support for a growing customer base. The openings mark a tangible step in bringing the brand’s heritage back into daily use for drivers who value practical, locally supported vehicles.

According to Maxim Liksutov, a deputy mayor in Moscow, Moskvich vehicles are already available in twenty-five Russian cities. The leadership has outlined an ambitious production plan, aiming to manufacture fifty thousand cars in the current year, with eight to ten thousand units designated as electric vehicles. This mix reflects a strategic emphasis on expanding electric mobility alongside traditional internal combustion offerings, catering to diverse consumer needs while building a robust nationwide supply chain.

Currently, the Moskvich lineup features the Moskvich 3 crossover and the Moskvich 3e, an electric variant designed to couple everyday practicality with modern electric performance. In addition, the company has announced a schedule for its next major milestone: serial production of the Moskvich 6 is planned to begin between July and August of the year, signaling a broader expansion of the model range. This development underscores the brand’s intent to offer larger, more versatile options alongside its compact crossover and electric family vehicle.

Earlier conversations around the brand touched on calls to shift away from Latin branding in favor of revitalizing the Zhiguli name. This historical note illustrates ongoing discussions about visual identity and naming conventions as the Moskvich portfolio expands and seeks to resonate with a broad spectrum of Russian consumers while maintaining a nod to the country’s automotive heritage.
