The Moskvich 6 liftback, which recently entered the Russian market, will be offered with a new, richly equipped package. This update was reported by a major Russian daily newspaper. The upgrading of the model signals a stronger push into the mid size sedan segment with an emphasis on value and modern features that matter to contemporary buyers in Russia and neighboring markets.
According to the report, the Moskvich 6 in the Techno version will be available to customers in 2024. While the full hardware specification for this variant has not been disclosed yet, it is confirmed that among the models in the lineup, only the Moskvich 6 will be equipped with six airbags, underscoring a focus on occupant protection that aligns with growing safety expectations among new car buyers in the region.
Currently, the Moskvich 6 is offered in two trim levels: Comfort and Business. The base Comfort version comes with a practical set including 17 inch alloy wheels, cruise control, rearview cameras and a keyless entry system. Meanwhile the Business configuration adds an electrically adjustable driver seat, enhanced climate control and a 7 inch instrument display, offering a more premium feel and improved driver convenience for daily use and longer trips.
Two engines are available for the Moskvich 6. A 1.5 liter turbocharged engine paired with a CVT delivers 136 horsepower, providing a balanced blend of efficiency and responsiveness for city driving and highway cruising. A second option features a more powerful engine, producing 174 horsepower and paired with a robotic transmission, aimed at customers seeking stronger performance without sacrificing comfort on longer journeys.
Earlier information indicated that a new Chinese brand would also enter the Russian market with the Paladin SUV, signaling broader international brand diversification and a wide range of choices for buyers in the region. This development reflects a broader trend of new entrants expanding the local automotive landscape with diverse powertrains and feature sets to meet varied consumer needs.
