Logistician Leonid Belyaev, who acquired the first commercial Moskvich 6 liftback, shared his initial observations about how the car operates and noted that the tire pressure sensors occasionally fail to register. This issue was reported in the publication Arguments and Facts.
Before making the switch, the driver had been behind the wheel of a Skoda Rapid. The Moskvich 6 presents a different driving experience, marking a shift in both size and comfort compared with the older Skoda model.
According to Belyaev, the Moskvich 6 is noticeably wider and longer than the Skoda Rapid. The ride feels smoother and more forgiving in everyday use, with stable handling when changing lanes at speed. Still, he noted that the overall driving enjoyment might not reach the same level as the Skoda, a sentiment he expressed to AiF reporters.
As for the tire pressure sensors, the first Moskvich 6 owner reported that the system did not function correctly on his vehicle. He raised the issue with the dealer, who pledged to address it by updating the multimedia interface and related software. The dealer’s plan was to integrate a fix through the car’s infotainment system, rather than replacing hardware components outright.
When choosing the Moskvich 6, the owner said he was influenced by the positive feedback surrounding its predecessor, the JAC Sehol A5 Plus. The favorable reviews of that model helped him set expectations about build quality and comfort for the new Moskvich, particularly in areas where consumer experience with Chinese-branded vehicles has historically varied. He found the Sehol’s reputation compelling enough to translate into confidence about the Moskvich 6’s potential, even as he acknowledged that the Moskvich’s design and feel diverge in important ways from the JAC lineage.
It is worth noting that in the months prior, Chinese car brands expanded their dealer networks in Russia at a rapid pace. The rapid growth reflected a broader strategy to reach more customers, improve service accessibility, and provide closer support for new models entering the market. This expansion context helps explain why new entrants like the Moskvich 6 navigate both strong consumer curiosity and the challenges of establishing robust aftersales infrastructure in a competitive environment.
