Moscow court imposes preventive detention in taxi rape case

A Moscow court has taken preventive measures against a taxi driver accused of assaulting a passenger in a vehicle. The information was reported through the Telegram channel associated with the capital courts of general jurisdiction.

According to the court’s decision, Tuychiev Khusanbai Sotvoldievich was placed under preventive detention for two months, extending until November 1, 2024. The ruling was issued by the Zyuzinsky District Court of Moscow and is noted in the official publication.

The criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 131 and Part 1 of Article 132 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which pertain to rape and acts of violence of a sexual nature.

Earlier reports indicated that the taxi driver was detained in Moscow on suspicion of raping a passenger. Investigators state that the alleged incident occurred on September 1 on Znamenskie Sadki Street, where the taxi driver allegedly assaulted and raped the passenger inside the vehicle.

It was noted that the detainee’s involvement in the alleged rape was confirmed through investigative actions and the materials of the criminal case.

In a separate development, prior reports in St. Petersburg described another crime involving an impairment of a vulnerable individual, highlighting ongoing concerns about personal safety and criminal activity in urban settings.
