The inline engine assembly line for K5 generation trucks has been upgraded to greatly boost throughput. The site reports that capacity has risen from 12,000 engines per year to 30,000, marking a significant step in meeting growing demand for both internal and external customers. The modernization touches every phase of production, enabling faster build times without compromising quality. This upgrade aligns with broader manufacturing goals to increase domestic procurement and reduce reliance on imported components within the engine family.

On the line, around 40 distinctive engine configurations are assembled to serve the core K5 truck lines in the main production stream, as well as transportation and heavy-duty families. In addition, the line is equipped to supply engines to external buyers, expanding the company’s role as a supplier in the wider market. The engines produced are Euro-5 compliant, feature a displacement of 12 liters, and deliver power outputs ranging from 380 to 630 horsepower. The manufacturer notes that the shift to domestically sourced components has continued alongside the upgrade, with previously imported parts for P6 engines replaced by homegrown equivalents during the year. This transition supports local suppliers and strengthens the resilience of the supply chain.

Currently, engines of model 910.15—with torque specs up to 2300 Nm—are shipped from the engine plant to the vehicle assembly site. At year-end plans include installing engines with upgraded fuel systems and electronic control units. Looking ahead, the first half of the next year is set to introduce the 910.50 model, featuring a larger displacement of 13 liters and improved fuel efficiency, with a minimum reduction of about 1.8 liters per 100 kilometers in consumption. These steps reflect a continuous push to enhance performance, efficiency, and reliability across the engine lineup while maintaining competitive production timelines for the family of KAMAZ K5 trucks.
