A serious road crash disrupted traffic on the Kaluga–Medyn corridor, with initial details coming from the Telegram channel of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs. The event occurred near the 21st kilometer of the Kaluga to Medyn route, and authorities were quick to respond with a preliminary sketch of what happened.
Early reports identify three vehicles involved. A PAZ passenger bus, operated on the Kaluga–Tovarkovo route and driven by a man born in 1958, collided with a Renault Megane steered by a female driver born in 1983, and a Hyundai Solaris driven by a man born in 1988. The Ministry described the bus as a regular service vehicle in operation on its usual route at the time of the crash.
Photographs from the scene show the bus veering into a ditch as a result of the impact, with damage to the rear of the Renault Megane also evident. The incident left 20 people on board the bus, but fortunately none appeared to be seriously injured. Police have opened an inquiry to determine the causes and circumstances surrounding the collision, gathering eyewitness accounts, examining the road conditions, and reviewing vehicle data where available.
In a separate note from local authorities, there is mention of another traffic-related incident earlier in the region: in Khabarovsk, an immigrant driver on bus number 56 allegedly assaulted a passenger following a verbal dispute. Security forces intervened, detained the driver, and city police opened an investigation to assess the facts under applicable laws. The outcome will follow the established legal process.
Additionally, reports from Perm indicate a separate incident where an intoxicated individual stole an asphalt roller and crashed it into a pole. These cases underscore ongoing concerns about road safety, driver behavior, and the enforcement of traffic regulations in various regions.
Authorities emphasize that investigations are ongoing to determine the full sequence of events, including the exact moment of impact, contributing factors such as speed or weather, and any potential mechanical faults. As new information becomes available, officials will update the public through official channels. In the meantime, local emergency services and traffic police continue to manage the scene, support affected passengers, and ensure safe road conditions for travelers along the corridor. The public is reminded to exercise caution on regional roads and to report any suspicious or unsafe driving behaviors to the appropriate authorities.
