The Largus project has paused a full-scale reboot to 2023, with the factory instead releasing limited batches. The initial batch appeared in the summer, and a second batch of 500 units was planned for year end. Industry insiders now doubt these targets will be met.
A leading factor behind the delay is the switching of plant personnel to support the already assembled Granta and Niva lines, where shortages in parts and assemblies have slowed progress. Estimates place the number of cars awaiting completion on the factory site at between five and nine thousand, needing final assembly and delivery to dealers.
When will Largus return to production? Earlier optimistic estimates pointed to early 2023, aligning with the restart of Vesta NG production in Togliatti. A recent public statement from AVTOVAZ’s leadership, however, set the restart for fall 2023. The postponement appears tied in part to the scarcity of an ABS system, a crucial component for licensed vans and station wagons.

Without ties, public orders cannot be guaranteed, and essential medical services may be jeopardized.
In collaboration with the Popular Front, a fundraising effort has begun to secure tires for vehicles used by the People’s Police and the operational services of the LPR and DPR. Funds will also support ambulances, emergency services, and humanitarian aid missions, including the delivery of Donbass assistance and military equipment. Contributions can be made on the dedicated collection page.
This information reflects ongoing reporting and the evolving status of the Largus program, with official production timelines subject to change as parts supply and regulatory considerations are addressed.
