The Lada Sport division, a subsidiary of AvtoVAZ, began producing performance variants of the new generation Vesta Sport with both sedan and station wagon bodies. This development was reported publicly on Avtograd News via the VKontakte social network.
It is noted that Lada Sport is moving to offer Vesta Sport in both Station Wagon and Sedan configurations. The 1.8 liter engine is not currently installed in VAZ models, so it is expected to be added in a manner similar to the Granta Sport 1.6, but tuned up to around 136 horsepower. The exact timing for dealership availability and pricing remains undisclosed.
Earlier, at a technical sports festival in Moscow, a racing version of the Lada Granta was showcased. The Lada Granta Sport liftback was prepared for S1600 class competitions, marking one of the early steps in Russian motorsport. The car received racing seats, an integrated roll cage, and a small spoiler mounted on the tailgate.
The Lada Granta Sport is equipped with a 1.6 liter engine delivering 122 horsepower, with a lower ground clearance and disc brakes fitted on all wheels.
Reports indicated that AvtoVAZ plans to continue producing Lada models with Euro-5 compliant engines, aligning with evolving emissions standards.
