The localization level of current Lada vehicles varies by model, reflecting a nuanced production strategy. A recent industry update cites Maxim Sokolov, the company president, to illustrate this point.

According to Sokolov, the Granta and Niva lines have achieved an exceptionally high degree of localization, approaching near-total domestic content at roughly 99 percent. The Vesta family stands at about 95 percent localization, with AvtoVAZ actively pursuing full localization alignment in the near term.

When asked about Lada Largus, the model slated for a restart at the Izhevsk facility in May, the head of AvtoVAZ described the trend as continually improving. He noted that the production environment is evolving quickly, increasing opportunities for regional supply chains and supplier integration.

There have been previous discussions about releasing even simpler versions of the Lada Granta, contingent on market demand. Sokolov stressed that model configurations will respond to what buyers want. Lada Granta remains in use not only in major cities but also in rural regions, where pared-down setups are particularly appealing. For instance, a customer who accepts the removal of conventional electric power steering to secure a 10,000 ruble price reduction may receive that option, aligning with consumer priorities on cost and practicality.

Earlier reports also confirmed that the Lada X-Cross 5 crossover project has been terminated. The decision underscores a shift in product strategy, emphasizing core models with strong localization and regional viability. However, the company continues to monitor demand signals across diverse markets and adjust its localization targets accordingly.
