AVTOVAZ unveiled the launch of a dual fuel version of the Lada Granta sedan, designed to cut fuel costs by a factor of two to three compared with a standard gasoline model. This upgrade makes the Granta more economical for daily driving while keeping its familiar practicality intact.

All Granta sedans receive LPG equipment across every air conditioning configuration. The gas cylinder sits in the trunk and holds 80 liters of gas, with the luggage compartment offering a space of 340 liters.

The LPG system marks the first time this technology has been applied to the most affordable Lada, although similar setups have already appeared on the Vesta and Largus families, demonstrating the manufacturer’s long standing exploration of gas as an alternative fuel source.

The vehicle runs on both gasoline and compressed natural gas, allowing seamless switching between fuels. The gas cylinder is equipped with a fuse and a high speed valve, which prevents rupture or uncontrolled gas release if the fuel system is damaged, prioritizing safety for drivers and passengers alike.

With a full fill of gas and petrol, the car can cover up to 1,000 kilometers without refueling. The average gas consumption is 6.1 cubic meters per 100 kilometers, underscoring the efficiency gains from the dual fuel setup.

The modification is carried out by the Togliatti based company ATS-AVTO. For customers choosing the CNG upgrade relative to the gasoline version, the additional cost is 45 thousand rubles.
