The photo likely comes from Tolyatti, captured inside one of AvtoVAZ’s manufacturing sites during a shift in progress. In the days that followed, enthusiasts on social media identified the mystery vehicle in the comments: it appears to be a near-production variant of the Lada e-Largus, the electric version of a familiar model. In essence, a body was shown that had been adapted to house the electric components and was mounted on a transport trolley for movement around the facility.
Authors note that the official production registration for this variant is assigned to Izhevsk, while in Togliatti the example on display seems to be undergoing testing and procedures related to its planned rollout into regular series production.
By year-end 2022, the vehicle had moved from rumor to a recognized project. Maxim Sokolov, the head of AvtoVAZ, presented the e-Largus to Alexander Brechalov, the head of Udmurtia, underscoring the company’s commitment to an electric wagon lineup. The stated driving range for the Russian electric family carrier stood at approximately 400 kilometers. Plans included offering both station wagons and commercial vans, with trial production expected to begin at the Izhevsk plant by the close of 2023.
