Snow and Ice Figure Creates a Safe Boundary on Russian Roads

A resident of a village in the Uchalinsky district of Bashkortostan used snow and ice to craft a life-size policing figure. The aim was to deter drunk drivers by presenting a visible reminder of road safety. The work was shared by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic.

The agency published a photo on its Telegram channel. It shows a snow patrol car with flashing lights, an ice figure wearing a vest, and a staff held in hand. Faiza Fattakhova, a local from the village of Novobayramgulovo, crafted the ice sculpture.

“Anyone who mistook the figure for a real State Traffic Inspectorate employee hesitated to step out of the garden. Some were not confident about their own sobriety. A few viewers turned away before approaching, while others waited for the patrol car to move before they dared leave their homes. Only after villagers explained that these were ice sculptures did they proceed to drive,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs explained.

The department credited Fattakhova for contributing to the prevention of drink-driving through creative, public-facing messaging in collaboration with road safety staff.

In a related note, reports indicate the traffic police previously helped a truck driver in Udmurtia who had spent two days in frigid conditions inside a broken vehicle. This incident underscored the department’s broader commitment to highway safety and emergency response across regions.
