Haval Monster crossover patented in Russia and detailed specs emerge

Haval, the Chinese automaker, has secured a Russian patent for a new Monster crossover. Images of the vehicle appeared in the database of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS), according to a report from Automobile News of the Day. The patent filing confirms the model’s development and positions it for potential market entry in the region.

The Monster adopts the LEMON modular platform. In size terms, the vehicle sits between the Haval H6 frame SUV and the Haval F7 SUV, measuring 4780 mm in length, 1890 mm in width, and 1675 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2800 mm. Inside, buyers can expect a fully digital instrument cluster on a 12.3-inch display and an infotainment system featuring a 14.6-inch touchscreen. These cabin elements reflect a strong focus on modern electronic interfaces and connectivity.

Under the hood in the Chinese market, the Monster is offered with a 1.5-liter engine delivering 184 horsepower and a 2.0-liter engine producing 224 horsepower. Both powerplants pair with a seven-speed robotic transmission. The design emphasizes straightforward, confident driving dynamics with a push forward approach to everyday performance.

Pricing in China places the Monster around $21,000, equivalent to about 1.25 million rubles at current exchange rates. This positioning suggests a competitive entry in markets seeking value alongside feature-rich packages.

Earlier this year reports noted that Chery, another Chinese automaker, plans to introduce a new flagship sedan named Arrizo 8 in Russia. In China, Arrizo 8 pricing ranges from 105.9 thousand to 128.9 thousand yuan, which translates to approximately 950,000 to 1,150,000 rubles at prevailing exchange rates. This information illustrates the broader strategy of Chinese brands expanding their presence in Russia and neighboring markets.
