The Automotive Technologies company plans to begin manufacturing the Haval M6 crossover in 2025 at the PSMA Rus facility in Kaluga, a development confirmed by regional authorities. The move aligns with efforts to deepen local production and strengthen supply chains for the Russian market.
Officials indicated an agreement with Haval, based in the Tula region, to launch M6 production at the Kaluga plant, using the site’s available capacity. Production is slated to begin next year, a step that supports the broader strategy of expanding domestic manufacturing for popular crossover models.
The governor noted that the plant’s overall capacity could reach about 100,000 vehicles annually, indicating substantial room for future expansion and more frequent model launches as demand grows in Russia.
The Haval M6 measures 4,664 mm in length and rides on a 2,680 mm wheelbase. In the base configuration it is equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine producing 143 horsepower and a manual transmission. The starting price is 2.18 million rubles, positioning the model to appeal to mid-range buyers looking for compact crossover utility and value.
Earlier announcements suggested FAW would present two Bestune models in Russia on December 10. The plan is to showcase the updated Bestune B70 liftback alongside the new T90 crossover, which is expected to become the flagship of Bestune’s Russian lineup.
The Bestune B70 will be offered with two engine options. The 1.5-liter turbo produces 160 horsepower and pairs with a seven-speed robotic transmission. The more powerful 2.0-liter engine delivers 217 horsepower and mates with a six-speed hydromechanical automatic, offering stronger performance for buyers seeking more dynamic credentials.
In the Russian market, the FAW Bestune T90 crossover will replace the existing T99 crossover, while full specifications have yet to be announced. This move aligns with FAW’s strategy to refresh its product family in Russia and offer a more modern, feature-rich model lineup.
