Chery

Chery is set to debut two new models at the Shanghai Auto Show: the Tiggo 9, the largest member of the Tiggo family, and a hybrid variant of another model that recently entered the Russian market in January.

It was announced that the Tiggo 9 and the hybrid Tiggo 7 Pro Max would be unveiled, with both models slated for Russian market availability next year, according to a company representative in Russia.

The Tiggo 9 in size mirrors other popular midsize SUVs seen in Russia, such as the Changan Uni-K and Geely Monjaro. It will be offered in both five-seat and seven-seat configurations.

Key exterior features include 20-inch wheels, matrix headlights, hidden door handles, adaptive cruise control with traffic-sign recognition, and adaptive suspension. The interior blends a digital instrument cluster with a unified multimedia display, while most controls on the steering wheel and center tunnel are touch-sensitive. Under the hood sits a 2.0-liter turbo engine delivering 261 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Regarding the Tiggo 7 Pro Max, Chinese reports suggest it could share the powertrain lineage with the Tiggo 8 Pro e+. This model uses a 1.5-liter turbo engine paired with two electric motors and a three-speed hybrid transmission, producing a combined 326 horsepower.

Hongqi

Hongqi plans to bring the H6 to Shanghai, produced at the former Mercedes-Benz plant in the Moscow region. The H6 sits on a platform shared with the H5 sedan but introduces a sportier silhouette, a more sloped roofline, center-mounted exhausts, and a new two-liter engine delivering 245 horsepower, enabling a sub-7-second sprint to 100 km/h.

Inside, the cabin features a vertically oriented, Tesla-like multimedia tablet. Options include a digital instrument cluster, carbon fiber upholstery, a massage seat, and a surround-view system. The model’s price has been announced at about 195 thousand yuan (roughly 2.3 million rubles).

Geely

Geely will unveil the Galaxy L7, a mid-size hybrid crossover built on a platform developed with Volvo. It marks the first launch under the Galaxy sub-brand, with two additional models expected later in the year. A notable design choice is the absence of a traditional radiator grille, with cooling air delivered through vents by the headlamps and a horizontal duct beneath the bumper. The cabin features three screens across the dashboard.

Official figures show a combined-cycle fuel consumption of 5.2 liters per 100 kilometers, enabling a cruising range of about 1,370 kilometers. The Galaxy L7 uses a 1.5-liter turbo engine, a three-speed DHT transmission, and an electric motor. The front-wheel-drive version produces 390 horsepower, while the all-wheel-drive variant reaches 660 horsepower, and it can accelerate to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. The estimated price is around 200 thousand yuan (about 2.4 million rubles).

BYD

BYD plans to introduce a compact urban electric car, the Seagull, at the Shanghai show. The model is priced at 80 thousand yuan (about 950 thousand rubles).

The Seagull comes with a choice of 75 or 100 horsepower electric motors and offers a maximum range of about 405 kilometers on a full charge. In terms of dimensions, it sits roughly seven centimeters shorter and 13 centimeters longer than the Mini Cooper three-door hatch, yet retains five doors for practicality.

The Great Wall Motor

Great Wall plans to reveal the three-axle pickup Shanhai Cannon 6×6, featuring all-wheel drive across all axles. This configuration has not been seen in the Chinese market before. The Shanhai Cannon 6×6 is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 producing 360 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Exact body dimensions remain unconfirmed, but expectations place its length beyond six meters.

Beyond China, these models are recognized as the GMW Poer in various markets, with Poer KingKong models anticipated in Russia by late April/early May.

GAC

Among GAC’s new entries is the Trumpchi E9 flagship minivan, which features a hybrid drivetrain built around a 2.0-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor. In electric mode, the minivan can travel more than 100 kilometers, with total range surpassing 1,000 kilometers.

The van’s exterior is defined by a broad radiator grille with chrome accents and boomerang-shaped headlamps. Inside, the cabin uses semi-aniline leather and includes a large central screen, a digital instrument panel, and comfortable, multi-adjustable seating with footrests and armrests.

FAW

FAW has announced the Shanghai premiere of the mid-size Besturn T90, a design built on a new platform. At 4718 mm in length, the T90 aligns visually with the Tiggo 8 Pro Max in the Russian lineup. Engine options include turbocharged 1.5- and 2.0-liter units delivering 169 and 252 horsepower, respectively, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission from Aisin.

FAW has confirmed production in St. Petersburg at the former Nissan plant, with AvtoVAZ showcasing the Bestune T77 with a Lada badge. FAW Russia has also announced the expansion of sales for Bestune B70 and Bestune T55 in the local market.

Other companies

Other automakers have prepared a wave of new products for Shanghai. Smart, a Daimler and Geely joint venture, will unveil the Phantom #3 compact crossover, powered by two electric motors totaling 328 horsepower in the Brabus variant. The redesigned Porsche Cayenne will debut with a refreshed front fascia and a revamped interior featuring three screens. Other premieres include updates to the Volkswagen T-ROC, the electric Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680, Honda e:N, Volkswagen ID.7, and a Nissan Max-Out concept with Rolls-Royce-inspired styling.
