Haval dealers in Russia have begun offering the H5 SUV, according to a report from the Telegram channel Unlimited. One example was observed in the brand’s official Moscow showroom.
Sales personnel say the vehicles arrived in Russia via parallel imports, which indicates gray-market imports. The price cited for such an SUV is 3.65 million rubles, the message notes.
The dealer is prepared to either sell the vehicle locally or bring in another H5 from China. However, a warning accompanies this: official sales are expected to start in the fall, and the base price of the Haval H5 may rise to well over 4 million rubles.
In terms of dimensions, the H5 measures 5190 millimeters in length with a wheelbase of 3140 millimeters. With the rear seats folded, the luggage compartment holds up to 2116 liters. The vehicle bears design cues comparable to the Toyota Fortuner, featuring a wide radiator grille with two crossbars, LED headlights, roof rails, and dual rectangular exhaust tips. Inside, the Haval H5 offers a 10.25-inch display that controls multiple functions.
Back in China, the new Haval H5 is available with two two-liter engines. The first is a petrol engine delivering 218 horsepower, while the second is a 166-horsepower diesel. Transmissions include both manual and eight-speed automatic, with drive configurations limited to rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. In the Russian market, a gasoline version with a higher output of 249 horsepower will be offered, paired with a four-wheel-drive system.
Earlier reports noted that Exeed crossover production would start in July 2024 at a former Mercedes factory, signaling broader manufacturing activity in the region.
