Compared with the Big Dog, the new model features a distinctive grille and bumper. The headlights are round and outlined by LED strips, giving a sharp, modern look.
In profile terms, the front end of the Haval H-DOG conveys a true hardcore SUV vibe, while the rear leans more toward a crossover aesthetic with a spoiler and rounded shapes, complemented by tail lights reminiscent of Mazda.
Its dimensions run at 4705 mm in length, 1908 mm in width, and 1780 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2810 mm. The overall footprint places it slightly larger than, for example, the Hyundai Santa Fe in the same class.
Inside, there is a prominent multimedia display paired with a leather‑trimmed center console. Below the screen sits a panel of analog buttons, which makes certain vehicle controls quicker to access than fully touch‑based systems. The gear lever mirrors the design used in the Tank 300 family.
The flagship H-DOG variant will offer a hybrid drivetrain based on a 1.5‑liter turbo engine, delivering 326 horsepower and 530 Nm of torque. The electric portion can drive the vehicle for about 50 to 150 kilometers on a single charge, depending on usage.
A more modest variant uses a 2.0‑liter turbocharged engine with 238 hp and all‑wheel drive. This option is expected to arrive in Canada and the United States through official channels or via parallel import schemes, depending on regional availability.
The vehicle’s approach and departure angles are 24 and 30 degrees, respectively, with front and rear overhangs measuring 934 mm and 961 mm.
