In February 2024 the most popular crossover in Russia was the Chinese Haval Jolion. Analysts from Avtostat reported that about five thousand Jolion SUVs were sold in the last winter month. This figure marked a rise of roughly 2.2 times compared with February of the previous year, underscoring a strong momentum in the crossover segment during the early weeks of spring.
Following Jolion, Geely Monjaro held the runner-up position with around 4.8 thousand units sold in February. The Lada Niva Travel came in third with about 4.2 thousand transfers, a gain of roughly 18.7 percent year over year. Close behind, the Niva Legend logged around 4.1 thousand sales, a remarkable 74.6 percent increase from the prior February. Rounding out the top five was the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max, which moved approximately 3.8 thousand copies, representing a surge of about 3.9 times versus the same month a year earlier.
The February top ten list also featured the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro with roughly 2.8 thousand units sold, up about 3.3 times; the Omoda C5 with about 2.7 thousand units, an increase near 47 percent; the Geely Coolray with roughly 2.6 thousand units, corresponding to a nearly 49 percent rise; the Haval M6 at about 2.5 thousand units; and the Changan CS55 Plus with around 2 thousand units on the books for the month.
Earlier assessments highlighted a notable jump in new passenger car sales across Russia for February 2024, with a total around 104 thousand vehicles sold in the month. Analysts attributed the overall growth to a rebound in demand and the competitive pricing seen among popular crossovers and foreign models. This assessment was reported with reference to data from Avtostat and corroborated by TASS, which cited Autostat as the primary analytical source.
In related news, Geely Monjaro was identified in separate market analyses as the most popular foreign car in the Russian Federation for the period, reinforcing Monjaro’s strong performance in both domestic and import-substitution segments. The February results collectively illustrate a shifting landscape in the Russian crossover market, with multiple models posting double-digit gains and several newcomers achieving rapid popularization among buyers.
