Exeed, the brand under Chinese automaker Chery, announced plans to bring the RX crossover to Russia for sale in the summer of 2023. The news came via a press release forwarded to socialbites.ca by Exeed itself, signaling a concrete push into the Russian market with a model that broadens the brand’s local lineup.
The RX marks the fourth Exeed model to reach Russian roads, expanding the brand’s footprint in a market that has shown growing interest in modern Chinese crossovers. Under the hood, the crossover packs a 2-liter gasoline engine delivering 249 horsepower and paired with a seven-speed robotic dual-clutch transmission. All-wheel drive is standard, with seven selectable driving modes designed to tackle varied terrains—from wintery slabs to muddy trails and sandy surfaces. At launch, buyers will be able to choose from six exterior colors to personalize their RX.
Inside, the RX comes equipped with a 14-speaker Sony audio system and a suspension system with adaptive damping to balance comfort and handling. A surround vision system provides enhanced situational awareness for the driver, while the steering wheel replaces traditional physical buttons with touch controls. The front passenger seat offers a massage function for added comfort on longer trips. In Russia, the model will be offered in two trim levels, and price details will be announced closer to the start of sales as the market introduction progresses.
In China the RX is known as Yaoguang, and the model in Russia represents the production version of the AtlantiX concept that was shown earlier.
