Europrotocol Online has been integrated into the State Services Auto application, a tool designed to register a vehicle accident without calling police or filling out paper forms, according to the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation in its Telegram channel.
Among its benefits, the ministry highlights several advantages of online registration:
- the typical time to register an accident can be reduced by nearly half, speeding up the overall process;
- the likelihood of data errors is minimized since the form is automatically populated with information from the National Office, which increases the chances of receiving compensation for damage caused by the incident.
<li}there is no need to visit the insurance company office—notifications are sent directly to the insurer online;
To prepare an electronic protocol, the user should provide details about the vehicles involved and the OSAGO policies, describe the incident circumstances, and take photos of the drawn diagram and the accident scene; additional information about disagreements and vehicle damage should also be included.
A mandatory condition is that no persons were injured and no property other than vehicles sustained damage in the accident.
It is enough for one driver to have the Gosuslugi Avto app installed. However, both drivers must have verified accounts with the State Service.
The second participant in the accident only needs to confirm data accuracy via the link generated in the app. In practice, it is faster and more convenient to initiate the Europrotocol from two devices. Registration typically takes up to 30 minutes.
How much is reimbursed?
When both participants have photographed the damage, have no disagreements, and a photo fixation is issued, compensation can reach up to 400,000 rubles. If drivers disagree but still have photo evidence and agree to document the situation, compensation may be up to 100,000 rubles.
If there is disagreement and no photo of the scene is available, the European protocol cannot be used to issue an accident report, and police involvement would be necessary.
