In the near future, Moscow will receive a fleet of 14 upgraded electric buses for Mosgortrans, with eight more expected by the end of June. The latest test and operating data indicate a single-charge range exceeding 80 km, an improvement from roughly 60 km previously, while the heating system runs entirely on electricity, reducing atmospheric emissions. Additionally, drivers can set cabin temperature independently from the passenger area to optimize comfort for both pilots and riders.

The electric bus is equipped with adaptive lighting technology that shifts from cooler to warmer tones as daylight changes, enhancing visibility and passenger comfort. A fourth fare validator has been added to the passenger compartment storage area, the assistance buttons respond more quickly, the flooring has been upgraded to a more durable carpet, and the front route indicator has been enlarged and brightened for better legibility by passengers and drivers alike.

KAMAZ-6282 electric buses have been produced since 2018 in Neftekamsk at NEFAZ and since 2021 in Moscow at SVARZ. The renewed electric KAMAZ buses are slated to carry passengers in June. Currently, Moscow operates about 1,000 electric buses on city lines, with roughly 750 assembled by KAMAZ. It is noted that the KAMAZ-6282 model is produced at two facilities, NEFAZ and SVARZ. The exact site for the installation of the newest units is not specified, but it is indicated that the modernized buses will be accepted at SVARZ.

  • In the fall of 2021, within a single month, three KAMAZ-6282 electric buses burned in Moscow for various reasons, with at least one of them assembled at NEFAZ, and another incident occurred in January 2021.
  • Details about the developments behind the wheel can be found on Odnoklassniki, a social platform commonly used in the region.
