Belarusian-Chinese joint venture Belgee has disclosed plans to roll out updated versions of the S50 sedan beginning in 2025. The information comes via remarks attributed to the venture’s general director, Gennady Svidersky, and reflects a broader effort to pair automotive manufacturing with energy technology. The company confirms that a structured collaboration with Gazprom is underway to convert Belarus-made S50 sedans to methane, a move aimed at reducing running costs and emissions while expanding the model’s appeal in regional markets.

“This is a fairly demanding task for a new car, but the progress is steady thanks to this technical cooperation”, Svidersky stated. “The effort to adapt methane systems to our best-selling S50 is nearing completion and will bring a new fuel option to customers.”

Earlier information indicated the opening of 33 official Belgee dealership centers across Russia. The new centers are being opened in major hubs such as Moscow and St. Petersburg, plus cities including Vologda, Tula, Orel, Bryansk, Saratov, Orenburg, Yekaterinburg and Omsk among others, signaling a rapid expansion of the brand’s retail network.

Belgee plans to grow the dealer network to at least 120 car centers by the end of the year, ensuring widespread access to sales and service. The current strategy places showrooms and service hubs across key Russian regions, making it easier for customers to discover the model lineup and arrange test drives. In the brand’s lineup, customers are invited to consider the X50 as a compact crossover and the X70 as a larger, more versatile option.

In parallel, Russians are being offered the X50 and X70 crossovers as part of an expanding product lineup. Earlier reports noted that Zeekr would begin selling the 7X crossover in Europe, aligning with the broader strategy of expanding electric and hybrid models into European markets.

Taken together, these moves reflect a regional growth path that ties together a stronger product lineup, cleaner propulsion options, and a broadened service network across Russia and neighboring markets.
