Proposal emerges to replace the existing concrete roadblocks shaped like hemispheres with alternatives that grab more attention. As State Duma deputy Vasily Vlasov points out, these hemisphere structures become particularly disruptive in winter when they blend with snow drifts on the road, making them hard to distinguish and sometimes causing damage to vehicles.
In a letter to the head of the traffic police at the Russian Ministry of the Interior, Mikhail Chernikov, the parliamentarian notes that placing concrete hemispheres on roadways has become widespread. They appear near the entrances of schools and hospitals, and they are often found along road networks in neighboring districts as well.
What exactly should replace the hemisphere, as suggested by the deputy, remains unclear. What is certain is that the replacement must be a set of designs that are clearly more visually striking and distinctive than the current hemispherical blocks.
