In September 2022 AVTOVAZ announced that there were no plans to resume production of the Lada XRAY family. The decision followed serious supply chain disruptions that affected components and slowed the assembly line. Among Lada’s lineup, XRAY was the least localized and most impacted by these disruptions.
Some readers may wonder whether owners of a discontinued model will face service issues. The short answer is that maintenance arrangements will continue as before for XRAY owners, even though the model is no longer in active production.
AVTOVAZ clarified that warranties remain in effect for cars whose warranty period has not yet expired. After-warranty service will continue for the lifetime of the vehicle, ensuring owners can access necessary support and genuine maintenance options as needed.
The XRAY shares its roots with the B0 platform. While AVTOVAZ halted production of related models like Logan and Sandero in May, the company is exploring a future Renault CMF-B platform for new vehicles. This shift signals a broader plan to refresh its design language and technology stack, while keeping options open for future collaboration and platform use.
