AVTOVAZ continues moving the Vesta line from Izhevsk to Togliatti, a shift driven by the higher throughput of the Togliatti conveyor. On October 13, the auto giant’s press service announced that the first three bodies of the Lada Vesta had already been welded at the company’s Togliatti site. This marks a key phase in the commissioning process, which will proceed until mass production begins.
Officials noted that Maxim Sokolov, the president of AVTOVAZ, along with department heads, personally inspected the first three welded bodies. Sokolov expressed gratitude to the project team and all employees contributing to the transition, underscoring the collaborative effort behind this move.
AVTOVAZ emphasizes that the technology transfer from Izhevsk to Togliatti maintains the same high standards of vehicle quality and safety. The transfer is executed in strict accordance with the approved technological scheme, ensuring continuity and reliability of the production line during the shift.
Regarding timing, the AVTOVAZ press service indicated that series production of Vesta in Togliatti is planned for the first half of 2023. The Viber channel “At the Factory,” which covers the welding of the initial bodies, reports that mass production is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2023. Earlier, in an interview with Za Rulem, Maxim Sokolov stated that Vesta would be produced in Tolyatti in March 2023.
- Meanwhile, the pre-styling phase of Vesta is being archived as one of the adjustments has already been removed from the official website.
