By reviewing the Euro protocol, users can access more details about an accident, compare those details with estimated repair costs, and, if needed, request additional information about the incident from the seller, including the protocol form itself.
In recent years, the number of accidents recorded under the European Protocol in Russia has remained high, with no drop below 50 percent. The inclusion of this document in vehicle inspection reports is expected to increase the share of cars checked for defects and damage, explains Andrey Tumkin, head of Autoteka’s product line service.
Autoteka has expanded the data available on accidents, adding a new item titled “Technical failures at the time of the accident,” and providing more detailed information about the moment of collision. The service now offers comprehensive data on the time of the accident and the condition of all vehicles involved, including driver and participant health status, as well as any violations that contributed to the incident.
The Autoteka reports now reflect the health status of the driver and all passengers, with new data on roadway conditions and weather conditions at the moment of the incident. In addition, the report lists the makes and models of all vehicles involved in the accident, alongside the vehicle currently under review. Users can purchase reports for vehicles involved in an accident to compare the extent of damage and the expected repair costs within the reports.
A new item, “Technical failures at the time of an accident,” has appeared in the reports. It includes data on vehicle failures that led to the accident, when applicable.
According to Andrey Tumkin, adding more information to the reports, such as the nature of traffic violations and the condition of the driver and passengers, as well as weather and road conditions, helps users form the most complete picture of the incident. This goes beyond the technical condition of the car and includes the behavior of the driver during the sale process, aiding customers in making informed decisions about the deal. Tumkin notes that Avtoteka, part of Avito, continues to broaden the used car market and supports safer, more transparent transactions for Russian motorists.
About Autoteka
Avtoteka offers an online car check service as part of the Avito project and stands as one of the most extensive non-government databases on vehicle history. The Autoteka database contains information on roughly 50 million vehicles, with data for about 15 million vehicles unique to this source and not available elsewhere.
The Autoteka report goes beyond basic details like registration data and accident involvement. It also includes the vehicle’s service maintenance history, mileage records, any pledges, and indicators showing use by commercial entities, among other data points.
