Chinese automaker Zeekr will begin blocking “grey” electric cars that are unofficially imported to other countries. reports Kazakh publication Tengri Auto cites a letter from the car brand.
“Zeekr vehicles coming off the assembly line after July 15 will receive warning notifications if they are found outside of China or if they use SIM cards not authorized by the manufacturer. If this warning is ignored, the second notification will disable display functions, the message states.
According to representatives of the international Zeekr office, this measure was taken to support official sales channels.
It happened before that knownZeekr has revealed its updated 009 minivan.
The updated car has additional chrome trim on the front bumper and a lidar (laser radar) on its roof, which is the information on which the active safety and driver assistance systems are based. There are also additional chrome trims on the lower body sides.
The pre-designed 009 is available with two layout options, with four or six seats. A seven-seater version will also be available for the updated minivan, with separate seats in the first and second rows and a solid three-seater sofa in the rear.
The car is also now available in a rear-wheel drive version with two power outputs (340 and 421 hp). All-wheel drive versions will also remain in the range.
