A bill that would ban mobile traffic cameras in the Russian Federation has been submitted to the State Duma. Author of the initiative spoke Yaroslav Nilov (LDPR), chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, reported on his Telegram channel.

The explanatory note states that the project concerns special devices that can hide vehicle registration numbers. In case of violation, drivers face the confiscation of such devices, as well as the deprivation of their license. The authors of the bill emphasize that from 2018 to 2023, the number of violations under the article of the Code of Administrative Offenses “Driving in violation of the rules on the installation of state registration plates” increased by one and a half times.
