Sberbank has announced that its Green Marathon charity run will kick off on June 1, coinciding with World Children’s Day. The event’s organizers highlighted the opportunity to support children through active participation and community involvement.

This sports initiative also showcases Sber’s commitment to wellness and charitable giving. A notable element of the program is NaSporte, a free mobile app designed for athletes and fans. The app provides a centralized platform for tracking activity, engaging with fellow runners, and staying motivated through real-time progress updates.

According to the announcement, participants who join the Green Marathon through the NaSporte app and activate the tracker at the start on June 1 or while jogging anywhere in Russia will trigger a donation mechanism. For every kilometer completed, Sber will convert 100 rubles into charitable support. The funds raised during the marathon will be directed to the Investment in the Future charity foundation, focusing on helping children with mental disabilities and those in orphan care prepare for school and development opportunities.

To participate online, users are advised to download the mobile application, create a profile, and grant geolocation access. On the day of the race, runners should open the app, select the Green Marathon options such as Outdoors Running or Nordic Walking, start their activity, and press Stop upon completion. This streamlined process makes it easy for participants across Russia to contribute while pursuing personal fitness goals.

Sber notes that the NaSport app will continue to evolve beyond the Green Marathon. Beyond logging workouts, the platform offers features to monitor overall fitness progress, store and compare results, share achievements with friends, map running routes, organize events, and explore related wellness activities. The ongoing development underscores a broader vision of integrating charitable impact with everyday health and activity tracking.

Returning this year for its eleventh edition, the Sber Green Marathon is expected to attract tens of thousands of runners from roughly 60 Russian cities. The participation volume and geographic reach are indicative of the event’s popularity and its role as a prominent national sports milestone that brings communities together while supporting a meaningful cause.
