“One of the reasons for this global trend is the tightening of environmental standards, since manual transmission cannot always provide the required level of emissions provided by automatic transmission. With the development of technology and automatic transmissions becoming popular, in the future manual transmissions will be installed less and less on cars,” Avtodom noted.
At the same time, according to experts, manual transmissions will continue to be used in the economic car, SUV and commercial vehicle segments in the Russian Federation in the coming years.
