Russian automaker AvtoVAZ has supplied more than 100 Lada Vesta vehicles to the State Duma fleet. In this respect reports RIA Novosti quotes the company’s president, Maxim Sokolov.

“A batch of cars has already been transferred for State Duma employees and workers – Lada Vesta – just over 100 cars,” Sokolov said.

The senior manager also added that a pre-order was received from the State Duma for Lada Aura, which will enter mass production in September.

Volodin said that in July 2023, lawmakers should decide to use only domestic cars such as Moskvich, Lada and Aurus as official cars. He emphasized that Russia will not create its own auto industry if “there are other cars” and Russians drive cars from unfriendly countries. Federation Council President Valentina Matvienko also defended the use of domestic cars by authorities.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has prepared a list of machines that are recommended for civil servants to use primarily for official purposes. It includes the brands Lada, UAZ, Aurus and Moskvich. Volodin said that the deputies will use Lada, Aurus and Moskvich cars.
