The current top-priced Lada Vesta in the Russian market is the SW Cross station wagon, powered by a 1.8-liter engine delivering 122 hp. In its most feature-rich Techno trim, the car includes LED headlights, front and rear disc brakes, a media system with a tablet-style display, 17-inch alloy wheels, and front and side airbags. The price for this fully equipped Vesta is 2.13 million rubles. In Russia, this well-equipped model can be compared with popular Chinese crossovers such as the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro and Haval Jolion, and the discussion will also cover other fresh contenders from the Middle Kingdom.

Lebanon S6 Pro

The Livan S6 Pro sedan sits on the same modular BMA platform as the Geely Coolray in Russia, since Livan (formerly Lifan) is part of Geely. Inside, the cabin features dual touch screens controlling instrument readings and the media system. The interface also handles most vehicle functions, from hood operations and lighting adjustments to radio and climate control.

A 1.5-liter turbocharged engine sits under the hood, producing 147 hp, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Chinese sedan carries a higher price than the Vesta, starting around 2.3 million rubles for the base Luxury configuration. It comes well equipped with front and rear power windows, heated mirrors, front and side airbags, and a sunroof, while seat adjustments are mechanical. In terms of dimensions, the Livan is larger than the Vesta, measuring 4730 mm in length compared to 4445 mm for the Russian car.

SWM G01

The Chinese SWM front-wheel-drive crossover is assembled at Avtotor in Kaliningrad. It features a 1.5-liter turbo engine producing 139 hp and a seven-speed robotic transmission. The base trim includes a panoramic roof, LED headlights, and 18-inch wheels.

Standard safety and convenience features include front and side airbags, an electromechanical parking brake, a keyless entry system, and a 10-inch media screen. Dealers list prices starting at around 2.2 million rubles.

Kaiyi E5

Kaiyi brand sedans are also assembled in Kaliningrad. Following a recent price reduction, the Kaiyi E5 is available in the base configuration for about 1.7 million rubles. The car is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo engine producing 147 hp and a manual shifter.

The E5 comes with front airbags, air conditioning, heated seats, heated mirrors, and washer nozzles. It also includes cruise control and keyless entry. The trunk houses a smaller spare wheel, and the interior features fabric trim. In comparison, the Lada Vesta offers a more premium interior with white leather options.

Geely Emgrand

Geely Emgrand is produced at Belarus’ BelGee plant and powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine producing 122 hp. The 1.8 Evo engine, the oldest in the Lada lineup, offers the same power in some variants. Russia-based buyers typically see a price around 2 million rubles for an Emgrand with a manual transmission. The base Emgrand includes halogen headlights, stamped wheels with wheel covers, two airbags, ABS, and a stability system, plus a trunk light.

An important point for Emgrand is the presence of a traditional hydromechanical automatic transmission, which is viewed as more reliable than the CVT found in some versions of the Vesta. The car costs at least 2.2 million rubles. Notable options include power windows with an automatic mode, a light sensor, and tire pressure monitoring.

FAW T55

The FAW T55 crossover is the smallest in the brand’s lineup in Russia, with a price starting at 2.4 million rubles. The SUV comes with front and side airbags, ABS, a directional stabilization system, LED optics, and six-way driver’s seat adjustment in its base configuration. It is powered by a 1.5-liter turbo engine producing 160 hp and paired with a seven-speed robotic transmission.

The T55 has been manufactured in China since 2021 and represents the fourth model in the updated FAW range. In dimensions, it compares to the latest Kia Sportage, at 4437 mm bumper-to-bumper and a 2650 mm wheelbase.

Omoda S5

The Omoda S5 sedan, powered by a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter engine and a CVT, is available in Russia for around 2.3 million rubles before discounts. Its lineage traces back to the 2015 Chery Arrizo 5. The S5 comes in six body colors, including red and steel, and greets the driver with a virtual instrument cluster, a soft dash surface, and a large central multimedia screen in the first trim level.

Available options include all-round cameras, ABS, and a stabilization system with front and side airbags including curtain airbags. The base model includes air conditioning, while single-zone climate control appears only on higher trims.

JAC JS3

The JAC JS3 is a youthful crossover in the Chinese brand’s lineup, priced around 1.7 million rubles for a 2024 model, making it one of the more affordable options in its segment. Technically, the JS3 is a refreshed version of the S3, which has been in production since 2014.

The base variant comes with a 1.6-liter engine rated at 109 hp and a five-speed manual transmission. Available in four body colors, it includes halogen headlights, air conditioning, a radio, and two airbags, with only the height of the steering wheel being adjustable.
